Introduction

This article complements the Official release newsletter and focuses on graphically representing features that were briefly mentioned in the newsletter under the "What else is new?" section. 

 

The most notable features in the 2023.4 release are fully presented in the Official release newsletter and are listed in the following list:

  • Navion i2 Mounting Visualization and ISO 8855 Coordinate System

  • Adjustable Zoomed Region Selector on Overview Widget

  • Frequency Band Option for Vector Reference Curve

  • Shock Response Spectrum Widget



Channel filtering functionality now extended to Math modules and channel selector in Measure mode

The user can now filter channels by Name, Sampling, Unit, Sample rate, Array channels, Description, Tags, Keywords, Group keywords, Widget accepted or stored status. The extension of the channel filtering functionality should make it easier for the user to find and add channels inside the Math modules and in Measure mode. Once the filters have been set, the filters icon turns orange to remind the customer that filters are being used.




CAN message channels, Global variables and Data Headers can be shown at unsupported exports

The Channels section of the Export tab is now equipped with an additional button- Show unsupported channels, which enables the user to see all channels, not just the ones that can be exported as was the case in the previous versions of the software.




Export order for Global Variables and Data Header channels can now be defined inside their settings

In the previous versions of DewesoftX, the order in which the Global variables and Data Header channels were exported depended on the order in which they were added to the project or the order in which they were organized inside Data header entries. DewesoftX version 2023.5 enables the user to set the Export order of Global Variables and Data Header channels without having to change the actual order in which they were added to the project by using the new Export order property.




Optimization of the paste functionality on the DS-grid

The program now checks for similarities between the currently set values on the DS-grid and the values the user is trying to paste onto the grid. When pasting, the program now skips identical values, resulting in a quicker grid update.



Channel recalculation no longer needed after name changes to any of the Math modules

In the previous versions of DewesoftX, the user had to perform recalculations whenever they renamed a math module in Analyze mode. In version 2023.5, renaming a math module no longer constitutes a reason for performing recalculations.




Additional functionality added to Famos and Matlab exports

In the Famos Export settings tab, there is now an additional option to Export the datafile per channel and Ignore gaps between triggers.



Additionally,  reduced data MIN,MAX,MEAN,RMS, postfixes are now automatically added to channel names. Previously, the only way to see which type of data presentation was being observed was by enabling module name as prefix for channels.




The user can find two additional options for the Matlab Export, in the Settings tab. These two options are Merge time channels per sample rate and Add metadata for every channel. the addition of Merge time channels per sample rate means, that the  user can now export a single time channel when exporting a file to Matlab if the channels are synchronous and sampling at the same rate. The Add metadata for every channel will now enable the user to export metadata for every channel.



Runout compensation measurements at variable speeds now supported in Orbit Analysis.

In the Orbit Analysis module, runout compensation can now be performed while having non-steady RPM, such as in the case of coasting down or while rolling the shaft by hand. Therefore, the  new DewesoftX version supports proper angle domain averaging across multiple revolutions.




Improved Latch Value Math

Latch Value Math now supports array channels as input and additionally offers a standard set of trigger conditions.




Support ISO 6395 workflow

The workflow of Sound power measurements for earth-moving machinery is now supported in accordance with ISO 6395.




Amplifier Disable Mode 

Amplifier Disable Mode is a safe mode in which you can choose whether all amplifier functions (Excitation, TEDS scan, etc.) are operative or not. The feature is currently available for SIRIUS STG and HS-LV amplifiers.




Improvements of the Modal Geometry widget and support of both Intristic and Extrinsic rotation conventions

Modal Geometry nodes can be defined with with the so-called Intrinsic x-y’-z” or Extrinsic z-y-x Tait-Bryan angles which represents rotations about three distinct axes, meaning, that the user can now define the rotations as one, which occurs about the axes of the rotating node or that the rotations occur about the xyz axes of the original, motionless coordinate system.




The user can now add lines as an object in the Geometry editor.




There is now an option to add Distance units to the modal geometry editor. Additionally, the user can now use these units during export.




The names of the axes in the rotate geometry popup have now been renamed from 1. Axis, 2. Axis and 3. Axis to X axis, Y axis and Z axis.




DewesoftX now supports exporting the geometry animation with white background with the addition of the new Invert colors option. In the previous versions of DewesoftX, the user could only export the geometry animation with the standard black background.




DewesoftX now supports the import of geometry from DEWESoft ARTeMIS OMA into DEWESoft.
