Introduction

This article complements the Official release newsletter and focuses on graphically representing features that were briefly mentioned in the newsletter under the "What else is new?" section.

The most notable features in the 2024.1 release are fully presented in the Official release newsletter and are listed in the following list:

  • CEA updated for hydrogen engine analysis

  • TestBed Plugin Improvements

  • Extended Math Functionalities in Counters

  • OPC-UA Client and Server subscription option

  • ASAM ODS ATFX File Import

Sequencer supports exporting data to *.dxd file type, providing an option to select a custom data region.

The users that are working with the Sequencer can now export data to .*dxd or *.dxz data types. Additionally, the user can now define range of data to be exported (zoomed area) with start and end time in seconds (relative time).

Resizing the input control widget will also change the size of the next and previous buttons

The next prev buttons from the Input control widget are now automatically resized according to the size of the Input control widget. The Next prev button input type can be found if we select Control channel as the Input type.

The channel legend widget can now be automatically hidden directly from the settings.

When using widgets such as 2D Graph and Recorder, the user has the option to create a channel legend by selecting the ''Create legend'' option directly from the widget's Drawing options, but could only remove the legend in the Design mode. The option to add a legend now includes a ''Show legend'' checkbox to toggle legend on and off.

Recorder time axis display in milliseconds.

The user now has the option to change the Recorder widget's time axis to milliseconds instead of seconds. To do so, navigate to Settings, User interface, and change the Relative time format to MSEC.

User-defined notice messages are now stored and presented in a drop-down menu.

During data acquisition, the user has the possibility to make notice events with custom Event text. In the previous versions of the software, the event text was stored only in the datafile, so they couldn't be re-used or pre-made for future data acquisition. In DewesoftX 2024.1, all notice events are saved to a PredefinedNoticeMessages.dxb datafile that can be found in the System folder. The user can therefore create Event texts prior to data acquisition and simply choose the suitable option from the drop-down menu once storing has started or once they have entered Analysis mode. The customer can also share the PredefinedNoticeMessages.dxb file to have the same predefined events for different measurement units.

The FFT now extends its support to the Kaiser-Bessel window, allowing you to customize the beta coefficient.

The FFT now supports Kaiser-Bessel windows with a user defined beta coefficient.

FFT Setup UI with pages for Basic and Advanced parameters

The FFT Analysis Setup user interface has now been split into Basic and Advanced pages. The Basic page now displays the parameters that are required to make a measurement, and the advanced page features the parameters that the user may or may not use during data acquisition.

This feature has been made specifically for users that are working on smaller monitors (such as 800x600 mobile monitors), as they will now be able to view and set all the parameters available in the FFT.

Orbit Analysis with, e.g., DC gap shown in volts, Runout compensation data as channels, display template updates, and other improvements.

The newest version of DewesoftX brings multiple improvements in the Orbit Analysis module.

  • The users can now choose to observe the DC gap in Volts or in channel units. To do so, simply press the button on the lower right side of the DC gap header and choose between Channel unit and Voltage [V].

  • The measured Runout compensation is now available as a channel called Runout Correction. This means that the user can now inspect the measured runout compensation data while in Measure mode or Analysis mode.

  • The setup in Order Analysis now includes the Data collection parameter. The user can choose between two options: On center of bin and Continuos.
    • The On center of bin option means that only the data, closest to the center of the bins will be collected.
    • The Continuous option means that data will be collected continuously throughout the bins.

This option has always been available in the Order Tracking module. Upon  the request of users, the option to choose the type of Data collection has been added to the Orbit Analysis User interface as well.

  • If we try to post-process a data file recorded with the Order Analysis module, we now have the option to Separate spectra for runup/steady state/coastdown. This means that we can now separate the data for runup, steady state and rundown into separate channels.

  • The runout compensation template has been updated to include the new runout channel plot. To achieve this, runout orbit was added to the template. This allows the user to clearly see what runout data was measured.

File exported with our ASAM ODS export option is now compatible with PAK software

ASAM ODS export is now compatible with PAK software. To ensure compatibility, the user needs to enable the two Export options below:

  • Define time implicit for sync or resampled channels
  • Put data files in a separate directory

A new DATX export option

DewesoftX now offers *.datx file type export for users that would like to import the data measured in DewesoftX into DSPCon's software.

ENI Export module now includes support for additional IOLITE devices and SIRIUS HS

On request of multiple users, the ENI Export module can now be used with additional IOLITE devices and SIRIUS HS devices.

The FlexRay module has an updated user interface for easier usage

DewesoftX 2024.1 brings a new user interface (UI) for the FlexRay module. The new UI now visually fits in with the rest of DewesoftX's UI and is easier to use.

USB 3.0. Communication is now fully supported for SIRIUS-XHS Counter channels

With DewesoftX 2024.1, the SIRIUS-XHS Counter channels fully support USB 3.0 communication.

Software support up to 40 kS/s on IOLITE 4xHV module within DewesoftX and RT

The IOLITE 4xHV's maximum sample rate within DewesoftX and RT is now 40  kS/s.

Connection detection for IOLITE Modular Multi and IOLITE Gate, accompanied by a warning message if the modules are incorrectly connected

In DewesoftX 2024.1, connection detection of IOLITE Modular and IOLITE Gate was added. The user now also gets a Warning message in case the module is connected to the computer on the OUT port.
